Basic Occupational Safety and Security Training (BOSST) Course


THE OBJECTIVES OF:

    This course aims to provide theoretical and practical training for seafarers to meet the standard of competence as specified in Section A-VI/1 and Section A-VI/6 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended. Candidate is deemed to be physically and medically fit for physical consuming activities eg safety jump from a height into the water.


ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

    16 years old and above, and be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English language.


COURSE OUTLINE:

    • Personal Survival Techniques (PST) (STCW Table A-VI/1-1)

    • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF) (STCW Table A-VI/1-2)

    • Elementary First Aid (EFA) (STCW Table A-VI/1-3)

    • Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) (STCW Table A-VI/1-4)

    • Security Awareness Training (SAT) (STCW Table A-VI/6-1)
