This course aims to help seafarers meet the Regulation V/3 of the STCW Convention, which specifies the mandatory minimum requirements for the training and qualifications of officers, ratings, and other personnel on ships subject to the IGF Code. To address the challenges of recent use of gas, including LNG, and other low-flashpoint fuels in shipping, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) implemented the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) in 2015 and integrated related aspects into the STCW Convention.
