Advanced Training For Service On Ships Using Fuels Covered Under The IGF Code

THE OBJECTIVES OF:

This course aims to help seafarers meet Regulation V/3 of the STCW Convention, which outlines the mandatory minimum requirements for the training and qualifications of officers, ratings, and other personnel on ships subject to the IGF Code. To address the recent challenges of using gas, including LNG, and other low-flashpoint fuels, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) introduced the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) in 2015 and incorporated relevant elements into the STCW Convention. The course targets seafarers responsible for managing fuels on ships covered by the IGF Code and adheres to the requirements of Section A-V/3, paragraph 2 of the STCW Code.
