Decarbonisation & Energy Efficiency in Shipping


THE OBJECTIVES OF:

    This course aims to enhance the knowledge and engineering skills of shipyard engineers, equipment/service providers, ship operators, and middle managers on the latest decarbonisation technologies. It covers the fundamentals and practical applications of advanced technologies such as ship digital twins, wind-assisted propulsion, air lubrication systems, carbon-neutral fuels, battery and shore-to-ship charging, and shipboard carbon capture and storage, supporting informed decision-making and effective implementation in the shipping industry.

    At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    • Understand the basic principles of the latest decarbonisation technologies
    • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of each technology
    • Make informed decisions on the selection and implementation of green technologies for various vessels
    • Understand the future trend and pathways towards maritime decarbonisation
