THE OBJECTIVES OF:

    This course aims to offer an insight into loss and grief issues and helps equip Seafaring Officers with the basic knowledge to deal with the intricacies of such sensitive issues when it arises. It also aims to explore the concepts of loss and grief, understand common grief reactions, and identify grief through behavioural, physical, cognitive, and emotional responses. It recognises the cultural influences on dealing with loss and grief, and appreciate the importance of empathetic communication.
